Andrews Honors Dr Hutcheson Rodeo Parade Opens Junior Event
A 3:30 p.m. parade marks the start of a three day junior rodeo at the Andrews Rodeo grounds on Seminole Highway. The ATRA show draws entrants from West Texas and Eastern New Mexico with over 200 riders and about 700 events across three nights. The parade begins at M&M Chevrolet and features the Andrews County Sheriff's Posse. A barbecue at Pioneer Park follows the opening ceremony. Out of town participants will attend as guests. Dr. Z. W. Hutcheson of Andrews was named 1966 Outstanding Citizen at the Chamber of Commerce banquet. Since arriving in 1946 after WWII service, he helped found the Lions Club and the Andrews Chamber, led Red Cross and United Fund drives, and served on regional boards while promoting town beautification and outdoor life.
