Shelter Lake Wildcat Shows Oil Prospect
Jimmie Masco’s Fisher No. 1 at Shafter Lake Wildcat yields repeated oil shows from 4020 to 4537 feet. Each run brought surface returns of about one third oil and two thirds water, with oil fraction increasing as water declined. Tests suggest potential for a commercial producer once acidized. It is unclear if owners plan further drilling before testing.
