64th Legislature Accomplishments and Redistricting in Texas
The 64th Texas Legislature wrapped up five months of activity with broad legislation. It approved a $12 billion budget framework, health maintenance organizations, medical liability bills, hospital certificate standards, voter registration, primary finance, and nine single member districts. Redistricting passed for nine counties, and a constitutional amendment to raise water bonds was set for 1976. Revenue projections rose as Comptroller Bullock forecast higher state intake amid oil policy changes. The court also ruled on a county judge removal case in Duva County.
