Odessa Men Die As Tank Explodes At Oil Field Base
Two Odessa men, Daniel Franklin Fannin 29 and Pete Grantham 47, were killed when a 750 barrel steel gun barrel on the Gulf and was drilling near the rim at the Texas Pacific base exploded. The blast hurled Grantham over 100 feet and tore apart the tank top. N. C. Ike Green, roustabout foreman, was injured and witnessed the tragedy as live steam was being pumped into the barrel.
