Volunteers wear Heart Worker badges and record each donation with envelopes. receipts available on request and checks accepted. Funds support next year’s programs, with 53.1 percent for public programs, 25.7 percent for research, and 9 cents noted for administration.
Andrews Mustangs suffer a 64-51 defeat at Levelland ending a 15 game win streak and their regional playoff run. Loboes jump to a 26-5 first quarter lead and extend advantage despite late Mustang rallies. Key players include Jim Leach and Ronny Pearson for Andrews and Grant Dukes, Steve Thompson for Levelland.
Coach Edd Farmer named 2-AAA Coach of the Year as Andrews Mustangs place two players Wayne Roberts and Jim Leach on the District 2-3A All-District team with three honorable mentions Ronny Pearson Larry Scott and John Turnage also honored Roberts and Leach were unanimous selections along with eight seniors and two juniors among the district squad featuring players from Seminole Pecos Fort Stockton and Kermit in a season ending tally of ten named to the team.
