Twenty Andrews youths will display calves at the Youth Center on Saturday starting 10 a.m. An auction sale follows at 11 a.m. Gene Irwin and crew will cook barbecue after the sale. The sale features 20 steers on 180 days feed for West Texas business leaders and Andrews Chamber members.
Mustang Club President Harold Roberts ordered 200 more white hats after the Pecos win and the Mus tangs district title. 300 star club members took 200 hats to the high school Friday and sold 120 in one hour. Remaining hats sold at Simmons Furniture DA and S Well Servicing at $1 each while supply lasts.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Seay filed a $50,000 suit in 109th District Court against Seminole game warden A L Thornhanger alleging illegal arrest at the courthouse for unlawful assembly during drag racing arrests. The petition accuses improper confinement, denial of calls, coercive pleas, and an intrusive search amounting to assault and battery.
Seventeen youths aged 16 to 26 were arrested for unlawful assembly after a chase on Means camp road and held for a court hearing. They dispute charges and the legality of the search, citing improper procedures and lack of rights explanation. Fourteen attended a News office taping with editor Grant Mabry.
