Watch Mystery Survives Car Crash On Eunice Highway
After a late night crash on the Eunice highway, a driver sat in a patrol car and, while nervously fiddling with his watch band, discovered the internals were missing. A flashlight search recovered the mechanism under the front seat, the watch was repaired and ran again. no one was hurt in the 1:30 a.m. wreck.

Fatalities on Andrews County Highways Reach 84 in 17 Years
Since 1946 Andrews County has recorded 84 highway deaths. most occur on the Odessa road. 1956 was the deadliest year with 19 killed in 12 wrecks outside the city and one inside. The DPS highway patrol began in Andrews in 1956. In 1957 eight died in five wrecks and in 1960 eight died in seven wrecks.

Cars Collide On Eunice Highway West of Andrews
Two cars collided sixteen miles west of Andrews on the Eunice highway at 1 40 a m Thursday. Maymond Thomas Weatherford 45 of Odessa driving east struck James Rowell Fanning 54 of Lubbock who was westbound and ran off the road. Fanning said he fell asleep and neither driver was injured though both cars were almost totally demolished.
