Former Mayors Father Dies in Rotan at 71
R. L. Boge Wilkins father of former Mayor Jimmy Wilkins died early Monday in Rotan after a lengthy illness. Services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Roby. He was 71 and had served Fisher County as deputy sheriff for four years and sheriff for 18 years retiring in 1953. He married Mattie Summerlin in 1920 in Brown County. Survived by widow, two sons Jimmy of Houston and Don of Kermit, three daughters Opal Neely Roby, W T Edwards Rotan, and Jay D Allen Dalhart, plus three brothers, two sisters and 10 grandchildren.
