Dennis the Menace Park Proposed by Civic Committee

The Civic Committee of the Chamber of Commerce led by W. D. Day plans a Dennis the Menace Park with Disneyland style playgrounds in Andrews. A spring and summer paint up and clean up campaign aims to improve highway entrances and tidy vacant land on the town outskirts by coordinating with private property owners.

City Council Names Citizens Group for Andrews Master Plan

City Council will name a citizens group Monday to guide a 20 year Andrews master plan. Don Johnson and 14 Texas Tech students will coordinate a Feb 22 meeting with over 60 locals to orient committees and roles. Committee heads include Byford Sealy industrial and Roy Smith zoning.

Chamber urged to return committee cards for yearly plans

Chamber of Commerce president Jimmy Wilkins urged members to return committee cards to the office so groups they wish to work with are identified. Committee chairmen will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. to organize and name members, with all cards due by Monday to outline plans for committee work.

Services Held For Mrs. Margie Miller in Andrews

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p m for Mrs. Margie Wasalee Miller 41 who died unexpectedly at Permian General Hospital Wednesday night. Interment followed in Andrews Cemetery with Singleton's Funeral Home in charge. She lived in Andrews 13 years moved from Rockdale in 1950 born in Chelsea Oklahoma and was a Church of Christ member. Survived by husband Chester E Miller four children Nancy Carol Miller Jean Marie Randall Miller Steven Miller and three others. Parents Mr and Mrs Robert H DeLozier of Chelsea and two sisters Mrs Rudy Plowman Tulsa and Mrs Robert Phillips Los Angeles.

Glover Rites Pending For Rising Star Man

Funeral services are pending in Rising Star for Earnest Weaver Glover 67 who died Friday in Andrews Convalescent Hospital after six days as a patient. He was a resident of Rising Star and father of Jerry Glover of 804 N W 13. Burial is planned in Rising Star Cemetery under Higgenbotham Funeral Home with Singleton's Funeral Home in charge locally.

Mustang Club Meeting Plans All-Sports Banquet

The Mustang Club will hold its regular meeting Monday at 2 30 p m in the junior high cafeteria with president Fred Courtney stating the main business is plans for the All-Sports banquet. Basketball films will also be shown.
