Trainers Clinic Held In Andrews
The first athletic trainer training clinic was held in Andrews on Saturday with James Ketcham in charge. Visiting trainers registered from 8:30 to 9 a.m. in the high school theatre as Jimmie Keeling welcomed attendees. Bob Bond spoke on shin splints and Jim Weber on muscle injuries. Memorial services were set for Mrs. Betty Porter, who died Saturday in Permian General Hospital. donations were requested to the Betty Porter Nursing Scholarship Fund or the Jake Roach fund. Sam Aguilera spoke on ankle injuries, followed by Dr. Thurston Dean on shoulder injuries and Dr. Kenneth Schultz on knee injuries. A taping demonstration and film showed taped techniques.
