James Roberts editor of the Andrews County News won the Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award for civic service and efforts to bring a railroad to Andrews. Rites Slated Today For Mrs Jennings
Funeral services for Lila Williams Jennings 56 are set for 2 p m at Singleton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jess Hill and Rev. Tom Flippins officiating. Burial in Andrews cemetery follows under Singleton’s direction. She died 9:15 a m Wednesday at Permian General Hospital after a long illness. A resident of Andrews eight years then Hugo Oklahoma, she returned to Andrews last October. She was born in Hays county and a former Winters resident.
