Civil Defense Class To Open At New High School
A new Civil Defense education class titled Education for Survival will begin Tuesday at 7 p m in the physics room of the new senior high school. Instructor A W Shifit leads 3 hour sessions each Monday night in February totaling 12 hours. At least 20 adults must enroll. so far 111 have earned Civil Defense certificates. Andrews mothers marched door to door Tuesday night collecting 2256.17 for the local March of Dimes drive. It was described as the campaign’s most successful effort in some time. Chairwoman Mrs. Bill Sanders led the event with campaign director O. B. Raburn noting the drive would mostly wrap up, with youth activities remaining scheduled.
