Three-Church Choir To Perform Night of Miracles Cantata

Town Hall Meeting Called by Chamber Seeks Citizen Help

A town hall style meeting titled Program for Economic Progress will be at the Community Building from 3 to 5 p m on Wednesday December 13. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce the event invites all citizens to contribute ideas for the chamber's 1968 program of work and action. High School Choirs Prepare Christmas Concert at Yale

Three local high school choirs led by Tom Adams and Suane Biegel present a Christmas concert Thursday December 21 at 7 30 p m in the old auditorium. Adults pay 1 and children 50 cents. The A Cappella Mixed and freshmen sixth grade choirs perform carols and selections including Mary's Boy Child and Little Drummer Boy.

Crowds Mob Downtown Yale Event Grabs Christmas Night Attention

Crowds swelled to a mob in the Gibson parking lot on Thursday night as prizes were awarded for the week. A $100 prize rolled into the final week with $59 and $25 given to Mrs. Stroud McMurray and Bill Nichols. Activities by the Chamber of Commerce include the courthouse singing tree with the A High School band on Monday and the Junior High School choir on later dates.

Building permits in Andrews for November fell while the year’s total rose to 857522 dollars, more than 100000 above the previous year’s figure. November permits totaled 4650 dollars for two accessory buildings three additions two move outs and one move in.

Santa Says Plans Holiday Visits Around Town

Santa Claus reports children have been good this year and apologizes to any missed in the Gibson lot crowd. He will visit West Broadway 5:30 to 6:30 and North Main to 8 p.m. today, then South Main 1:30 to 3:30 and downtown to 5:30 p.m. Tomorrow. He will be at the courthouse lawn workshop Monday and Tuesday from 6:30 to 8.

Services Held For Gordon Bertsch

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Means Memorial Methodist Church for Gordon Stuart Bertsch five year old son of Mr and Mrs Walter J Bertsch who died in Abilene on Thursday. Burial was in Andrews Babyland Cemetery. He was born April 5 1962 in Lutibock. Survivors include the parents two sisters Carol Diane and Nancy Marie and two brothers Lawrence Philip and John Andrews. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs H P Bertsch of Aransas Pass and maternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs Israel Perlmutter of Las Vegas Nevada.

Goodfellows Christmas Show Set for Dec 16 at Rose Theater

The annual Goodfellows theater show for Andrews children is set for 10 a.m. Saturday December 16 at the Rose Theater. Admission is canned goods for the Christmas food boxes, with proceeds aiding families in need. Volunteers from Virgil Lasater Chapter of Demolays assist with toy repair and packing, while donations total 35.00 dollars to date.
