A busload of Midland Junior Historical Association chapter 176 students toured Andrews County Saturday. They visited markers including Col Shafter trail Shafter townsite Florey Oil Camp and Hunter Irwin home then shared a picnic lunch at Lakeside Park. One Sul Ross student dies in rollover near Frankel City
A one car crash on Farm to Market road 181 six point seven miles north of Frankel City left Alton David Brown 18 of Valentine dead on arrival at Permian General Hospital. Jerry Martin 21 of Seminole is in critical condition with injuries. Police say Martin was the probable driver and the crash occurred around 9 15 to 9 30 p m. Funeral services for Brown were held at Valentine High School with burial in Valentine Cemetery.
