Andrews Mustangs overturned a 24 16 first quarter deficit to edge Snyder Tigers 76 74. Arthur Collins scored the game winner as Pat Winfield led with 23 points, Johnny Carter 15 and Hiram Hubert 13, while L Powell and Bullard paced Snyder with 19 each. The win opens the Andrews season as they prepare for Brownfield Monday and next weekend's invitational. Seasonal reserved seats remain on sale at $4.50.

City Adds Blocks To Seal Coating Program Here
The City Council voted to extend slurry coating to fifteen more blocks on Andrews streets at a cost of 1750 dollars, bringing the total blocks to plans in the program to about ninety. Williams Asphalt Co of Fort Worth has been coating roughly 75 blocks under city contract over several weeks.

Car Hits Fire Truck On N Main In Andrews
A car driven by Judy Carolyn Coleman 17 struck an Andrews fire truck en route to a heater theater fire at Florey. Fire truck driver Gayle Morrow reported $250 damage. Coleman $300. The crash happened at North Main and Avenue J at 1 40 p.m. Saturday night. Coleman was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle by Officer Gordon Sides.

District Judge Russell Austin filed an order terminating County Auditor H. T. Wilson after 20 years and appointing Charlie W. Burkett as county clerk effective January 1 1966 Burkett is serving his first four year term and the non elective auditor post is reappointed by the district judge Wilson expressed surprise at the move noting few knew in advance Judge Austin said Wilson has been a good auditor but health and other reasons warrant a new appointment This action follows Wilson being originally appointed in 1946 by Judge Henry Russell of Pecos after Andrews County passed 15 million dollars See COUNTY Page 2

Second DWI charge after three car wreck at busy intersection
A three car collision at SE 7th and Broadway Tuesday night led to L A Peterson of Andrews facing a second DWI charge filed by City Police. The crash sent a car 75 feet, injured a 9 year old briefly, and involved drivers Jesse Jose Gobos and Ted Clifton. Earlier Tuesday another collision at SEC and Third Streets involved Mrs B Dillard and Jesse Valescuelo with Valescuelo cited for unsafe speed.

Bootleg Charge Brings Sentencing After Trial
Joe Brown was fined $1,000 and sentenced to one year in jail by a county court jury after a two day trial on possession of alcoholic beverages for sale. Art Smith said the verdict would be appealed. The case stems from a March 20 arrest by county sheriff's office city police and liquor control officers. Brown faced a second charge from a May arrest. County Attorney Henry Guillet prosecuted.
