Firemen Douse Two Blazes in Andrews City
The Andrews Volunteer Fire Department answered two calls this week. At Modern Grocery a ceiling fire from faulty wiring was fought with tarpaulins and chemicals, limiting damage. Owner Ray Porter commended the firemen for minimal water damage. A second blaze at Powell’s east of the water tower involved cedar posts ignited by nearby flames, threatening the stockade and house.

Two Cars Wrecked In Holiday Mishaps
Dr H H Lawler lost control of a 1949 Chevrolet near Tarzan on a Wednesday afternoon. The car rolled over several times injuring him mildly and ending in total wreck.
