Remarkable 1871 case of facial reconstruction in a boy

In 1871 a 12 year old boy named Tommy, suffering severe facial disease, was treated by Dr Gustavus Sabine at Bellevue. Over thirteen years surgeons replaced facial features using grafts to cheeks, lips, and nose area, including finger grafts and fish tissue, with staged operations. The patient endured pain, aided others, and left the hospital with a smooth face and no visible traces of prior injury.

Harrisburg libel case over Bergner statements discussed

Mason Cotton Harvester progress in 1884 cotton season

The New Orleans Courier reports on the Mason Cotton Harvester as it undergoes field testing in Sumter and awaits revised belts and elevators.
