An 1885 advertisement from WilHITE & WilHITE druggists Anderson promotes WilHITE S Liver and Headache Pills claiming they stimulate the liver and purify blood to cure torpid liver and related ailments. The copy asserts the pills are vegetable and non debilitative with a price of 26 cents per box and dated Oct 15 1885.
Secretary Lamar recalls his European stay and denies urging the Confederate Congress to abolish slavery for recognition by Britain and France. He attributes the abolition tale to Count de Morny, recounts meetings with Disraeli, Mason, and Benjamin, and notes no policy shift occurred. He preserves his stance that slavery was central to the Confederacy and claims no proposal was pursued with Mr. Davis.
