The Brandy Crook Singing Convention met at Mt Springs Church on the fourth Sunday in November. A large attendance from Williamston and nearby towns filled the church yard and interior as quartets led by Prof J A Durram and colleagues provided delightful music. The event boosted church and Sunday school singing, with intentions to form township and nearby conventions, inviting Beaverdam and Mt Pisgah congregations to join in future sessions.
The comptroller general issued a circular clarifying new State pension law changes. A pension commissioner will handle all applications starting January 1, with meetings moved to February and a subsequent monthly session to verify lists before forwarding to the comptroller general. Applications must go through the pension commissioners, and the commissioner must be in his office every Saturday in January.

The Old Stone Church Association will publish a history of the church to fund preservation of the church and cemetery. Prof. Brackett of Clemson College will prepare it, and readers with information on General Pickens, his son Thomas Pickens governor of South Carolina, or church or cemetery connections are asked to send details to Prof. R. M. Brackett promptly.
Jose J Fretwell successor to Bleckley and Fretwell announces gifts valued at over 200 dollars for customers who settle debts in full since September or make 25 dollar payments, or purchase after October 15 through December 22 with cash payments. Presents to be displayed at the stables after November 1, then includes pledge to give away more than 200 dollars worth of presents.
All parties who pay off debts in full since September or who pay $25 on debts from October 14 to December 22 will be eligible for a chance to win presents. Applies to indebtedness and purchases for book and vehicles. Prizes include a driving horse, buggy, harness sets, saddle, bridle, and blanket with numbered tickets issued at payment. A committee will manage distribution.
