Story of the bombardment at Fort Sumter during the Civil War
An old war scrapbook recounts the first bombardment of Fort Sumter. It covers Beauregard’s demands, Major Anderson’s defiance, and the opening shots at 4 30 A M on Friday. The narrative notes the explosion, the battle across batteries, and the steady Confederate response without civilian injuries.
