Orestes Wins Multiple Titles in Alexandria Bicycle Derby

In Alexandria Armscamp Speedway hosted Lions Club sponsored bicycle derby. Orestes School dominated the older division with multiple firsts including relay victories. About 83 of 200+ registered participants raced as Elementary School earned the traveling trophy for top points.

Judging On Wednesday

The annual 4 H land judging contest will be held at the Orville Tranbarger farm with about 200 boys from eight county high schools expected to participate. Contests run from 9 to 11 a m and 12 30 to 2 30 p m with prizes including an electric drill and a banner for the winning team.

Accountants Plan Meeting and Business Show in Indianapolis

Paul C. Robey announced that John D. Harrington will speak at the October 3 meeting of the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Association of Accountants at the K of C Hall. Defendants In Criminal Cases Arraigned In Circuit Court

Seven defendants appeared before Circuit Court Judge Russell E. Stewart for arraignment. William Eugene Goodwin requested an attorney and Paul Kelley was appointed. Several co-defendants pled guilty to escape and related charges with three-year sentences to the Indiana Reformatory. Other cases included sodomy and assault charges, divorce actions, and various civil suits filed in Superior Courts.
