Three Days Of Hearings On Budgets In Madison County
The Madison County Tax Adjustment Board opens a three day series of hearings on the 1978 budgets and tax rates for all taxing units. Members include Anderton Mayo r Robert Roth Basil Hosier Dorothy Jones Moore Ward Taylor Everett Leachman Herbert Harold Doyle Wilcox. Sessions run 10 a.m. Monday through Wednesday with midday and afternoon hearings on townships and libraries and city budgets. Auditor Otis Cox notes the 1978 general fund tax rate is 1933 cents over the statutory limit after the council shaved 329,147.43 from the proposed county budget, leaving the overall budget at 4,242,289.

The five member Anderson school holding corporation approved bids by contractors for multi million dollar construction projects at Anderson and Highland high sebants this week. Most contracts went to low bidders and include Highland High School works with major trades and library furniture. The total cost is around 5.29 million at Highland and 35.14 million for Anderson with a six percent architect fee. final cost sharing not yet decided by the school corporation and holding company.
