Public Meet Plans Road Widening Near North Anderson
A state road project proposes nine tenths of a mile of new northbound lanes on SR 109 and SR 9, with the current road becoming one way south. The plan later adds two new lanes and shifts the traffic pattern toward the east and west sides, using existing pavement where possible. The final segment extends 1.5 miles to Cross Street Road and then to the project end, with widening from 22 to 24 feet for northbound use and the existing southbound lane retained. State engineers estimate the gross cost at 2 254 000 dollars, slated for 1963 1965 preliminary engineering and potential right of way.
