Toastmasters Club Convenes At YMCA

A regular Toastmasters meeting at the YMCA was led by toastmaster James Clery. Garland Hamlin won prepared speeches over Dallas Sells James Fosnet and Orville Eubank, while Robert Wiebke captured table topics. Ed Schowe was topicmaster with Rob Roscherry as general evaluator and Ned Stephenson as grammarian. Bob White served as usher. Leonard Speller attended as guest. The neat meeting is planned for December 1 at the YMCA with Robert Wiebke as toastmaster.

Scott Elected to Blue Key at Indiana University

Handley To Occupy Pulpit In Hometown On Thanksgiving Day

Governor Handley will speak at 10:29 a.m. at LaPorte Presby terian Church in his hometown and attend the cornerstone laying for a new church educational building. He will be accompanied by Mrs Handley and their two children Kenneth 12 and Martha 3. The family plans Thanksgiving with Handleys parents. The Statehouse will close for the holiday and reopen Monday. Handley will then go to Chicago for the International Livestock Exposition.

State Seeks Site for Science Academy Land Gift Offered

State Moose Group Names New Officers

The Fifth District of the Indiana State Moose Association elected officers at the Moose Home in New Castle for the coming year. Louis Hannebaun of Lodge No. 17 in Indianapolis was named vice president. Anderson Lodge No. 150 appointed Arnold Taylor as district secretary, Roscoe Criles as sports chairman, John Ashbaugh as membership chairman, and Paul Kinnamon as Opportunity Lodge chairman. Meetings will be the second Monday each month, starting December 9 with past state President Charles McCall presiding. District lodges include Elwood, Anderson, Muncie, New Castle, Greenfield, Rushville, Indianapolis, Shelbyville, Richmond, and Anderson.

Two Local Students Named To Committee

Clarence Orville Johnson, 63, was found dead Tuesday at 3 pm at his Rt. 2 home likely from a Sunday heart attack. Madison County Coroner and deputies ruled natural causes.
