Trial opens in burglary case against 18 year old Madison man

James L. Gosha of 1628 Fairview Street faces burglary and robbery charges in Madison Circuit Court. Prosecutor Ed Alley says Gosha and an unnamed youth entered Carolyn Calabria’s home by removing a basement window screen. A neighbor reported two figures near the residence before police were summoned. Witness Robert Archey testified he saw two men in the yard around 11 p.m. on January 5 and later noted suspects inside the house. Calabria died after the incident. Alley said the death was not linked to the burglary. A city detective collected Calabria’s statement after the pair’s apprehension.
