Soviet Premier Bulganin rejected a French plan for simultaneous world disarmament and German reunification as Guy Mollet prepared to visit Moscow. He warned of a dangerous global choice and said there is no third road while noting improved French Soviet relations may ease tensions.
New York Governor Averell Harriman moved into the Democratic presidential race this week, winning a sizeable share of Wyoming's convention delegation. He spoke in Montana and Wyoming signaling his campaign launch.
Adolph Lesco, 74, tossed old personal papers into a city trash can. A sanitation worker rescued them and a policeman found an unpaid parking ticket from 1932 for $6.03. Lesco paid the fine but called it a remarkable afterlife for a minor debt.

Three people were injured in auto accidents in the Anderson area yesterday amid more than 10 property damage crashes on streets during the rain. Sheriff Joe Brogdon said two were hurt on Ind 9 about two miles north of Anderson at 4 p.m. when a car driven by Katherine Ann Troup 21 of 903 Woodlawn Dr struck another vehicle.
A twin engine Crane Co. executives and two crew members died when their plane crashed on an Indiana farm while attempting an emergency landing. State police noted a remote possibility of a ninth victim beneath the wreckage. eight names were on the official list. The pilot reported trouble after departing Standiford Field, circling for landing.

Police seek driver who crashed into two large flower beds at Shadyside Park causing extensive damage and delaying park beautification. Leo Johnson, head of the city greenhouse, oversees the flower-bed project and is coordinating the response.
The Agriculture Department said it has less than 500 million of the over 3 billion needed to support farm prices for the next 14 months. Undersecretary Morse urged the House Banking Committee to authorize the CCC to borrow 14 billion from the Treasury, up from the current 12 billion limit, to finance the program and soil bank, with possible further requests next year.
