Improved State Revenue Picture Helps Indiana Fill Vacant Posts
Indiana State Budget Director Thomas Taylor said upbeat revenue estimates add about 10 million dollars extra for the current year and another 10 million for the new year. The funds will aid filling key vacancies in corrections mental health and health, up to roughly 1 million annually, while preserving a freeze on broader hiring. The move trims future employment savings from 7 million to about 6 million.
