Taylor back in uniform for Rushville extra game
Jeff Taylor, the Anderson High School senior whose ineligibility kept him from two sectional wins, is cleared and will rejoin the Indians for an extra-season game at Rushville. The school says illness verification and makeup work led to a restored D grade, excusing the absence, with district officials approving the reversal and Taylor returning to the tournament roster.

Carter Wins Senate Approval Of First Panama Canal Treaty
The Senate approved the first of two Panama Canal treaties by 68 to 10 with a 32 abstentions, backing permanent canal neutrality and joint Panamanian defense after 2000. The vote came after an amendment allowing U.S. intervention to keep the canal open post transfer. A second treaty on gradual transfer over 22 years remains to be considered. Carter called the approval a hopeful step for U.S. Latin American relations while Panamanian leaders may reject the amendment. Rex Granum noted Carter spoke with Torrijos by phone before the vote.
