Lt. Gov. Harold Handley leads the Indiana GOP gubernatorial contest with 51.65 percent of first choices among 989 ballots returned from 2,032 invited delegates. Frank Millis follows at 21.62 percent, Dr. Frank Sparks at 15.97 percent, with runners up John Scott Dan Cravens and Francis McCarty. Earl S. Collins 71 prominent jeweler and watchmaker and part owner of Shirk's Watch Shop died yesterday at 5 30 a m in Sanders Nursing Home after two years of declining health. He was born in New Castle and moved here about 50 years ago and helped run the shop with his uncle after Mr Shirk's death.
