Veteran reunites with family after war and service
Wounded Marine Howard Schnedler, a 16 year Leatherneck, was welcomed home as his wife Edythe and mother wait. He earned a fourth Purple Heart for shrapnel wounds in Vietnam days, while fellow veterans and photographers documented the emotional reunion. Meanwhile a separate Melvindale incident involved a bomb blast and a police stakeout.
