Lawrence Welk and his Champagne Music Makers will perform two shows at the State Fair Coliseum in Indianapolis on Saturday August 17 at 4 pm and 8 pm. The engagement is part of the $250,000 entertainment package for the 1974 Indiana State Fair. Welk, born on a North Dakota farm, began with George Kelly's Peerless Entertainers and later developed the sleeper bus concept used by touring bands.
