Chlorophyll generates global carbon monoxide, Argonne scientists say
Argonne National Laboratory researchers led by Dr. Henry L. Crespi report chlorophyll produces about 100 million tons of carbon monoxide worldwide yearly, largely from decay of aquatic and land vegetation. Natural sources rival man made output. danger to humans remains minimal unless vast decaying vegetation accumulates.

Muncie Plant to Close by September 1
Owens-Illinois will shut the 83 year old Muncie Indiana plant by Sept 1 after years of trying to keep it running. The 337 employees will receive severance pay and help finding new jobs in the area. The site opened in 1890 making glass insulators and blocks, with production ending in 1966.
