Judge Rules Cannon May Play With Houston

Federal judge ruled that Billy Cannon’s Los Angeles Rams contract was a conditional preliminary offer, not a binding deal, allowing Cannon to sign with the Houston Oilers for a three year term valued at $100,000 plus benefits. The decision cited a lack of a start date and an ending condition, framing the Ram pact as a conditional precedent to an actual working contract.
