EUB Groups Report Events Plan Meeting
The Mary Martha Circle of Colonial EUB Church met for a picnic and business session led by chairman Bertha Crattchett. Attendees included Vern Wheeler Orbin Worley Erwin Eaton Hobart Matchett Clarence Bangle Nellie Grove Ruth Reel Belva Boze Edith Johnson and other members. The Dorcas Circle met with Pauline Baughn leading a lesson on Christian Fellowship in Community. Nellie Swetman Norma Tooley assisted. An executive committee meeting with committee chairmen will be held at the YWCA Friday at 9 am under Mrs M B Howard chairwoman of Helping Hands and Miss Sharon Hansen. Panhellenic Council hosts a tea at the YWCA to inform prospective college coeds about sorority life and pledging. A five-girl panel from five universities discussed rush, campus life, and expectations, with displays from national sororities and mothers and alumnae in attendance.

Miss Carel Ann Hawkinson became the bride of James John Weaver in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony at Wesleyan Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Rinkenberg performed the double ring service as families gathered for the event. The bride, a Fairmount High School and Purdue University dietetics student, wore a gown of peau de soie with lace and a chantilly train. She carried a crescent bouquet of white carnations and an orchid. Attendants wore powder blue crystalline gowns with blue and white carnation arrangements. A lawn reception followed the ceremony at the groom’s parents’ home. The couple plans to reside in Marion.
