Official Tells Of Securities Scandals Fear

INDIANAPOLIS AP A state official fears a major scandal could erupt in the Indiana intrastate securities market. Secretary of State Charles O Hendricks says he is holding his breath until out of office. Officials seek Congress action to tighten rules as the federal SEC wants registration for brokers and mandatory self regulatory membership. The department has a small staff, a limited budget, and seeks an entrance examination for intrastate salesmen. Intrastate securities are issued within a single state and sold by new firms with variable pricing.
