Baseball talk and local league results mix with era notes
The item blends misquoted baseball chatter about Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle with local league results. Alexandria and North Anderson teams win in city tournament play at Shady Side Park, including UAW 663 and Mounds Baptist, while box scores note home runs by Stephens Purdy Etchison and Olmack. Ted Williams sits out Boston's finale as Gernert fills in left.
