First Israeli Egyptian Dogfight Since 22 Month Ceasefire
Tel Aviv reported Israeli fighters shot down two Egyptian Mig 21s over the Mediterranean in a bid air battle, while Cairo said two Israeli Mirages were downed near Ras el Bar. Each side claimed the other suffered aircraft losses. both denied significant incursions. The exchange marked the first Israeli Egyptian dogfight since the 22 month ceasefire began.
