Whitcomb Favored By GOP County Chairmen

Indiana GOP county chairmen favor Edgar D. Whitcomb for governor in an Associated Press poll showing 38 support versus 13 for Earl Bull and eight for Otis Bowen. Whitcomb remains the favorite of the State Committee led by Buena Chaney, with Bowen and Bull flanking him in campaigning but lacking clear local gains. The survey notes large counties and delegation totals at the June state convention, and Bowen leads in second-choice rankings.
