President Receives Honorary Degree at Holy Cross Stadium
About 22 000 attendees heard the President receive a doctor of civil law. The citation praised democracy and the aristocracy of the sensitive. He announced Senate cloture on civil rights, pledging to end poverty and racial injustice. He spoke on atomic power aiding mankind and predicted 7 million homes fueled by nuclear power by 1980.
