Free Downtown Parking Tokens Boost Weekend Plan
Anderson’s downtown parking program offers free metered-lot parking on Friday or Saturday. Shoppers receive brass tokens from 30 participating merchants for one hour of off-street parking, replacing a quarter. Over 2,500 tokens distributed last weekend, with 7,500 more to distribute. City and merchants promote the scheme to popularize the downtown free parking plan.
