Louisville boxer Rudell Stitch drowns saving companion
Louisville welterweight Rudell Stitch, 28, drowned while trying to rescue a fishing companion on the Ohio River. His manager Bud Bruner and promoter Bill King said Stitch planned to face welterweight contender Duis Rodriguez in July for a possible title shot. Stitch's body, found hours later, capped a career rise from Golden Gloves to No. 2 welterweight before a cataract delayed his title dreams. Funeral services are set for Wednesday morning.
