Police Blotter Reports Arrests in Local Party and Burglary Cases

An 18 year old Anderson man, Harold Gene Humphrey, was arrested after a 1 year old Pendleton girl was allegedly hurt at a Lapel party. Officers from Lapel and Madison County also investigated a major auto theft ring and multiple arrests followed at a Sulphur Springs area farm. Additional arrests include two local men tied to a July burglary on W 10th St and a Circuit Court warrant for autn banditry and theft.

Local Man Dies In Iowa Collision

Paul David Stover age 38 died instantly when his car collided with a semitrailer in Nevada Iowa. His wife Linda Stover was critically injured at Mary Greenley Hospital in Ames. The couple were church counselors at an Iowa State University camp. their son stayed with relatives.

Curb Bids Approved By City Board Of Public Works

The Board approved sidewalk and curb contracts for 15 locations after recommendations by Alan Berntey. Mautz and Oren and Ralph Reed and Sons won different sites in Anderson, with an estimated project cost over 73 thousand dollars.
