Chamber Plans Sessions As Week Opens In Indianapolis
Indiana plans for state aid cuts to local schools dominate a busy agenda. Gov. Welsh announced an $87.5 million reduction in 1963-64 education appropriations, with full first two quarterly distributions but large later cuts. University funding remains intact for operations though construction funds are denied, affecting future building. The changes accompany steady sales tax revenue challenges and ongoing legal tests. The Anderson Chamber schedules committee meetings this week to outline fall plans, including a city program slide show and a briefing at Don's Barbecue.
