Prosecutor Decision Sets Payment To Special Prosecutor
Jackson Circuit Judge Jom M. Lewis ordered State Auditor Dorothy Gardner to pay $200 to Jonathan J. Robertson for work as special prosecutor from June 15 to 20. Christopher Moritz, elected prosecutor, was enjoined from practicing law by the Indiana Supreme Court on June 10 for not being an Indiana State Bar member. Moritz's rehearing appeal was denied 3-2 by the court. Dissenters were Justices Walter Myers and Amos Jackson. The June 20 state payment was directed by Lewis and Gardner was advised to issue the check to Robertson. Moritz’s regular salary was held.
