School Systems Could Transfer Minority Students
INDIANAPOLIS AP An Indiana House Labor Committee bill could allow the transfer of minority students to adjoining school corporations when districts cannot achieve racial balance by redrawing attendance areas. Transfers are barred if they exceed 45 minutes or cause overcrowding or worsen balance. The committee also backed a measure making ghost employees illegal and criminally punishable.
