Airport rezoning bid denied near Madison County airport
The Madison County Planning Commission denied a petition to rezone about six acres from agricultural to R-2 near Anderson Municipal Airport. The move, tied to airport expansion plans including a 1,100 foot runway extension and road rerouting, had been tabled twice amid controversy over residential development on the land. A related two acre tract near the airport was also tabled pending aviation impact review.
