Septic Permits Change Drains Through County Health Office
The Madison County Health Department announces a new permit system for septic installations. Applicants must file at the health department office or by mail, pay a fee, and await inspection after which the file is sent to the county treasurer. County sanitation official Vincent Griffin says the changes aim to curb uninspected systems and enforce ordinance 26 2604 with penalties up to 1000 dollars and possible jail time.
