Assessors Begin Canvass for Personal Property Tax
Madison County townships convened at the court house to receive supplies and instructions for the annual personal property tax assessment canvass starting soon. About 60 deputy assessors from most townships attended the morning session led by Joe Hartman. Anderson Township held a separate meeting led by Wahu Dean with Arthur Putt and Herbert Holmes of the State Tax Board present.

Luehxta Brady 24 Fakeville and her children William 6, Donald 4 perished. Taylor tried to avoid the crash. John Mittel 81 Louisville Kentucky died Tuesday in a separate Ind 62 wreck near Charlestown. Barbara Baker 30 Danville Illinois died in a U S 36 collision near Avon.
