The investigation led by Capt. Stan Kenny seeks informants after a mass shooting at Terre Monte hospital left Bert Spencer, a 43 year old mother, gravely wounded. Police hope a suspect or witness will come forward to break the case as she remains hospitalized under sedation.
The council outlines pension changes to a 55 year threshold with 20 years service and 20 percent yearly funding, while noting three union lawsuits over insurance surcharges and public works disputes. A 20 year old city resident was arrested on eight charges after a series of hit and run accidents Tuesday evening. Graduates of the 197 class of Anderson High organize a 10th reunion set for Saturday at the Sheraton Inn in Anderson. An organizing meeting seeks addresses of classmates and invites 1967 graduates to contact Chris East at 115 North Shore Dr. 46011. A second planning meeting is scheduled for Sunday February 29 at 2 p.m. at the YMCA.
Record demand for large cars pushed U S domestic auto sales to a 12 year high in the first 10 days of February. Ford and General Motors posted double digit gains while Chrysler and American Motors lagged amid weather delivery delays and shifting model mix toward big cars.
