Madison Heights Band Director Severely Injured In Crash

Madison Heights High School band director James Patton, 40, was in serious to critical condition in intensive care at Indiana University Medical Center after a two car crash near Huntsville. He suffered massive chest injuries and possible ruptured larynx. another driver, 16 year old Christopher Byer Pendleton, was involved. Patton was turning left on Indiana 67 around 6 30 p m when his car collided with Byer’s vehicle. a passenger in Patton’s car, Joe Slavens, 23, refused treatment for hip and back injuries. Police investigate vandalism to an Anderson owned police car at West Eighth Street and Baxter Road with about 300 dollars damage to a 1975 Buick LeSabre.

Four in mall shoplifting ring nabbed in Indiana

Four suspects were observed as their vehicle entered Mounds Mall and were followed by Officer McCorkle from the parking lot into the shopping center. They stayed about 142 hours before a stop at Third Street and the Indiana 103 bypass. All four were arrested without incident and merchandise valued at about $4,000 was recovered including 3000 from Wasson’s and 9100 from Weller’s. An additional 3000 of other stores’ goods were recovered. A signed confession states the group traveled from Cleveland to central Indiana to shoplift.

City eyes HUD offer on Allen Chapel Terrace Estates
